HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A man accused of at least three sexual assaults stood before a judge on Thursday during his first court hearing.

Carl Redfield Jr. is accused of manipulating multiple women and using a gun to control and exploit his victims.

Prosecutors said hundreds of videos have been recovered, adding that they believe there could be dozens of victims.

During Thursday's hearing, attorneys said the first alleged assault in this case happened on Jan. 19.

Prosecutors said the alleged victim, who lives across the hall from Redfield Jr., was served a drink and woke up to him sexually assaulting her.

In a separate incident on June 6, Redfield Jr. is accused of putting a gun inside the mouth of a woman he was dating and recording the sexual assault.

Thursday's hearing comes after the Harris County Sheriff's Office held a press conference, asking for potential victims to come forward.

Officials said five women came forward after Tuesday's press conference.

ORIGINAL REPORT: 'Reign of terror': HCSO arrests alleged serial rapist, says there could be more victims

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says alleged serial rapist Carl Redfield Jr. has been accused of at least three sexual assaults and likely has more victims.

Defense attorneys argue Redfield Jr. was incorrectly labeled as a serial rapist by the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office said they discovered Redfield also had hours of video footage of the assaults. An arrest warrant states he had home surveillance cameras installed inside his apartment.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Redfield Jr. was arrested while working at a car dealership on July 24.

Court records show Redfield has a history of domestic violence cases in Harris County. He pleaded guilty to hitting a family member in 2015, but most cases against him were dismissed.

He was also convicted on a drug charge in LaPorte, Indiana, in 2005. Court records obtained by ABC13 show Redfield was a jail detention officer when he was accused of accepting money to bring weed and cocaine into a jail, but pleaded out, accepting a misdemeanor charge for possession of marijuana.

He is currently facing five charges with a bond set at more than $2.5 million. On Thursday, the judge said his bond will not be reduced.
