Video shows moment FBI agents surround Swalwell at SFO amid federal investigation

SAN FRANCISCO -- Former East Bay Congressman Eric Swalwell was escorted by federal agents through San Francisco International Airport, according to a newly released video ABC7 obtained through a public records request.

The video shows Swalwell getting off a plane wearing a black hoodie and baseball hat before investigators approach him. He appears to cooperate and is seen handing over what is presumed to be his cellphone to a female agent.

The footage then shows Swalwell walking with FBI agents through the airport before entering a restricted area.

Sources familiar with the situation previously told ABC News that the FBI seized Swalwell's cellphone and laptop as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. A day later, agents also searched his Washington, D.C., home, according to those sources.

Swalwell has not been charged with a crime.

In April, Swalwell ended his bid for California governor and resigned from Congress after multiple women accused him of sexual assault. He has denied those allegations.

Sources told ABC News that the criminal investigation centers on allegations of sexual assault.

ABC7 reached out to Swalwell's attorney for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
