Security guard shot and killed during robbery at illegal game room in SW Houston, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department has released the photo of a person of interest in the shooting that killed a security guard during a robbery at an illegal game room in southwest Houston.

On Tuesday, HPD released an image and shared a photo of the man they said they would like to speak with in relation to the case.

The shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the 7000 block of Bissonnet Street, according to a release from HPD. Officers said they were responding to reports of a shooting when a woman flagged them down. The woman told police she was at a nearby location when a man who was seen fleeing said there had been a shooting at a game room and that she should call police.

When HPD and the Houston Fire Department arrived, they found the victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation identified the man in the image as a person of interest and said he is wanted only for questioning.
