HPD looking for suspect responsible in deadly southwest Houston shooting

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department is looking for a suspect who, they said, shot and killed a man in southwest Houston back in October.

HPD said that on Oct. 21, patrol officers responded to a call about a shooting at an apartment complex located at 9303 Town Park Drive around 6:40 p.m.

There, officials said that officers found a man with gunshot wounds, and he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators learned that the victim entered the apartment complex and was followed by a suspect, identified as 31-year-old Carlos Padilla, who had exited a black van, authorities said.

HPD added that Padilla ran to the victim, fired multiple shots and ran from the scene.

Houston police said that Padilla is described as a man wearing a black ski mask and a red t-shirt.
