I-10 East Freeway at John Martin Road closed through the weekend for bridge repairs, TxDOT says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- If you're traveling from Beaumont into Houston, or taking the East Freeway, there's a significant road closure this weekend that could slow you down, starting on Friday evening, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, starting at 9 p.m., the westbound lanes on I-10 at John Martin Road will be closed entirely for scheduled maintenance and the repair of expansion joints on the bridge itself.

TxDOT says drivers who encounter this closure can take the I-10 frontage road as a detour.

It will be scheduled to reopen on Monday, August 11, at 5 a.m.
