HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Police Department is looking for a suspect allegedly responsible for a convenience store robbery in September.
According to HPD's Robbery Division, on Sep. 27 at about 8:15 pm, an unknown man went into a convenience store on the 7000 block of Will Clayton Parkway in north Houston.
The man made a small purchase, police said, but then wanted to exchange the item for something at a higher price and did not want to pay the difference.
Police said the man then became aggressive and assaulted the convenience store clerk. He then walked out of the store with the larger item and fled the scene in a silver four-door sedan, according to authorities.
HPD released surveillance video from the scene, along with a description of the suspect as a Black man in his 30s with a medium-length afro hairstyle with twists, a mustache, and a small goatee. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie with rolled-up sleeves, red shorts, and white tennis shoes, according to police.
Police are asking anyone with any information related to this investigation to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston directly by calling 713-222-TIPS (8477), submitting an online tip at www.crime-stoppers.org, or using the Crime Stoppers mobile app.
Information leading to the charging or arrest of any felony suspects may result in a cash payment up to $5,000, authorities said.
