Men arrested, accused of stealing $400,000 in jewelry from pawn shop, records show
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Several men are facing criminal charges connected to armed robberies at pawn shops in Houston, according to court documents.
In the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 8, operations at an EZ Pawn on South Post Oak Road froze when investigators say two masked men entered the shop with their guns and pointed them at employees and customers.
Court records show the two men, whom police have now identified as Disegha Devin Itima and Jordan Williams, are accused of stealing 362 pieces of jewelry valued at more than $400,000, about $3,000 in cash, and a game console valued at a little over $400.
On Thursday afternoon, HPD told ABC13 there are at least two other people they're looking for tied to this crime, adding that one of them is a juvenile.
Investigators say this wasn't Itima's first armed robbery at an accused pawn shop. He's accused of working with Guy Isiayei on Aug. 1 while robbing more than $60,000 in jewelry at a Bayou Pawn on Fondren Road.
Court records show that while the men were masked during the heist, they were caught on surveillance video meeting up after the robbery, unmasked.
They're charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Eyewitness News has reached out to the DA's office and HPD to see if these men are tied to other robberies they're investigating and is awaiting a response.
