Homeowner tied up, robbed during home invasion

BUNKER HILL, TX (KTRK) -- Police are searching for the three robbers who stole guns after terrorizing a homeowner and his housekeeper during a Friday afternoon home invasion near Memorial City Mall.

The Memorial Villages Police Department says the homeowner was tied up and robbed at gunpoint around 3pm Friday at a home on Red Coat Lane. They think these same robbers are tied to a handful of similar armed robberies in both Houston and Spring Valley.

Police say a housekeeper opened the door for a man pretending to be delivering a package. The suspect, armed with a silver handgun, forced his way into the home, and locked her in the bathroom. A second suspect then joined and together they went through the house. But before they could leave, the homeowner came home. The suspects forced him to open the safe and they stole jewelry, four handguns and two shotguns. They then tied up the homeowner before escaping in a white late model Ford Explorer.

Police say the homeowner's children, ages 10 and 3, were inside the family car finishing a movie so they were not confronted by the suspects.

Police now are asking neighbors to keep an eye out for suspicious activity and warned the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding the home invasion is asked to call the Memorial Villages Police Department at 713-365-3700.
