1 person killed in rollover crash on Lauder Road near Eastex Freeway, HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly rollover crash near the Eastex Freeway on Thursday morning.

HCSO said the accident happened at about 5 a.m. in the 4900 block of Lauder Road near the Eastex Freeway, where a car was found rolled over into a ditch.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the car was also fully engulfed in flames.

Deputies said one person died at the scene.

It's unclear at this time what may have led the vehicle to overturn.

The sheriff's office said Lauder Road to I-59 would be shut down throughout the investigation.
