HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Fire Department is working to clear a single-car fire that caused major backups on US-59 and Bissonnet Road on Wednesday, according to Houston TranStar.

The fire was reported just after 9 a.m., and traffic cameras showed the northbound lanes were impacted.

SkyEye13 was over the scene and showed HFD crews working on the vehicle.

The Houston Police Department said that the fire was caused by a crash. Officials said it was non-fatal, but the drivers' statuses are unknown.

It is unclear how long it will take for the lanes to reopen at this time.

This is one of several traffic delays that happened Wednesday morning. TranStar cameras showed the aftermath following an 18-wheeler fire on the East Loop northbound entrance ramp.
