Dad of 'affluenza' teen sentenced for posing as Fort Worth cop

FORT WORTH, TX (KTRK) -- The father of the so-called 'affluenza' teen, Ethan Couch, will spend the next year on probation.

A jury in North Texas convicted Fred Couch of false identification of a police officer.

He told police he was a suburban Fort Worth officer back in 2014.

Couch's son, Ethan, gained attention after he was sentenced to probation for a drunk driving wreck that killed four people.

He went to jail after violating his probation and fleeing to Mexico.
