74-year-old woman hospitalized after fire at home in Greater Eastwood neighborhood, HFD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman is in the hospital following an overnight fire at her home in the Greater Eastwood area, according to Houston Fire Department officials.

The HFD chief told ABC13 the fire was reported at about 3 a.m. on Wednesday, saying it happened in a detached residence at the back of the home on Munger Street, near Lombardy Street, where the woman lives.

The 74-year-old woman was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown.

It's unclear how the fire started, but an investigation into the incident is underway.
