HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Two teenage neighbors were hurt after they shot at each other from their driveways in a west Harris County neighborhood, according to the sheriff's office.

Detectives said the 19-year-olds were rushed to the hospital after the shooting that happened in the 5300 block of Tuglow Ravine Lane on Friday afternoon.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said both of the teens sustained multiple gunshot wounds and underwent surgery, but are expected to survive.

Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened, but shared that the teens are neighbors who were involved in some sort of altercation with each other that led to the shooting.

The altercation, detectives said, began in two vehicles, which the teens exited before they began shooting at each other from their driveways.

HCSO said an investigation is underway, but did not say if any charges have been filed yet.
