HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Two suspects are in custody after a police chase for a vehicle that did not stop for deputies ended in a brief manhunt in Cypress, according to Pct. 4.

Deputies said the chase ended Wednesday afternoon at Maple Village Drive and Lonestar Oak Street. They explained the pursuit began because the driver would not stop for deputies.

Pct. 4 said that when the vehicle stopped, two suspects got out and ran from deputies. One was caught quickly, and a short manhunt began for the other.

While police set up a perimeter, Ault Elementary School nearby was secured, and no one was allowed in or out of the building.

Deputies said the suspect who got away was later arrested, and further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
