PEARLAND, Texas (KTRK) -- A 16-year-old boy is in custody after being accused of killing his father inside a Pearland home on Tuesday morning, according to police.
Authorities say that the teen was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault of a family member. Officials say that the teen was identified as the son of the victim, and he is now being held at the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
According to Pearland police, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 9000 block of Sundown Drive in reference to a death investigation.
Upon arrival, law enforcement said officers found the body of a man inside one of the bedrooms of the home. The man was later identified as 43-year-old Willie Washington, who had sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Officers say that the victim's truck was missing from the home. Police later used a Flock License Plate Reader to locate the truck. Officers then attempted a traffic stop, but the teen driver fled and began a pursuit that ended when the vehicle crashed on Almeda and the 610 South Loop.
