One man is hospitalized and another in custody after a possible road rage shooting in southwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- One man is hospitalized and another in custody after an apparent road rage shooting in southwest Houston.

Houston police were called to the scene at the intersection of Fairdale and Greenridge around 1:30pm Friday.

Police believe the two drivers may have been arguing about whose turn it was to go before the gunfire.

They say the man driving the Porsche stopped and got out of his car. The BMW driver pulled a gun and shot him in the face.

"There was a guy laying on the ground and a woman screaming. She was screaming just 'Oh my god' and 'Help me, help me!'" said Meg Cordell who lives nearby.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. His female passenger was not harmed.

The BMW driver stayed on scene and was taken into custody. Officers say he will likely be charged.
