CONROE, TX -- For children in Africa who have never seen or played on playground equipment, their lives were changed when a ministry team from Conroe traveled to two different villages to install playground equipment once used by kids in Conroe.

In October, Maximizing Children's Ministries International, based in Conroe, placed its first playground in a rural village in Popa Falls, Namibia, which had nothing for the children to play on. The unit originally came from Carl Barton Park in Conroe, according to MCMI Director Matt Clayton. The other unit went to a village in Botswana.

"The great city of Conroe once again partnered with us to help make this happen for the wonderful children of Namibia," Clayton said.

After 10 years, the city replaces old playgrounds with new ones and MCMI acquires the older model at a very low cost. The ministry team refurbishes the playground and ships it in a container to the country.
