Grandmother's Pearland home destroyed by weekend tornado.

PEARLAND, TX (KTRK) -- An elderly woman and her family are trying to salvage what they can from their Pearland home after it was struck by a tornado over the weekend.

Ninfa Flores and her husband built their home on County Road 125 about 50 years ago. Now, they can no longer live there. They were inside when the tornado hit.

"We started hearing boom, boom, and it's just, I guess the whole roof went up," Flores said. "I don't know, it was just horrible. We've lost everything, everything. That's all I can say."

A blue tarp covers the back half of their two-story brick home. Part of the roof is missing. Dozens of trees are split in half. Pieces of pink insulation hang from power lines.

Flores' granddaughter, Dominique Ramirez, set up a GoFundMe link for anyone who would like to help her grandmother. The home is not insured.

"They lost everything. And you know, people don't understand what's going on here in Pearland," Ramirez said. "They need to because this is a disaster for us and this is not recovering, especially not having any insurance."
