No jail for Pasadena mom accused in baby's death

PASADENA, TX (KTRK) -- A Pasadena mother charged in her child's death will not serve any jail time, but her husband will.

A judge on Wednesday sentenced Vickie Cain to 8 years deferred adjudication and 240 hours of community service. Cain, 21, and her husband, William, were charged back in July after their 11-month-old baby girl died from severe burns left untreated.

Both were charged with injury to a child by omission. William Cain plead guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to 12 years behind bars.
