HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The City of Houston's annual Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration parade was held today to honor our local military heroes.
Bands, servicemen and women, trucks, tanks, floats and more moved down the streets of downtown Houston.

In addition to the parade, a number of other events will be held today. The day consists of the AT&T Job & Resource Fair that will be on-site to recruit and offer employment resources for veterans from 30+ corporations; the US Family Health Plan Health Fair, offering free health screenings and flu shots to veterans; a ceremony to salute our veterans and military personnel, with a notable public figure delivering a keynote address, dignitaries and 21-gun salute.
