8-year-old with cystic fibrosis undergoes double lung transplant

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An 8-year-old girl continues to capture the hearts of many Houstonians.

Maira Junaid, of Pakistan, underwent surgery Friday for a double lung transplant. She suffers from cystic fibrosis and came to Houston to get the best possible care.

Earlier this year, her family raised enough money though community donations to get her name on the transplant list.

The doctors were happy and positive after Junaid's surgery, according to her parents.
