HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Decades of school memorabilia from North Forest ISD is hitting the auction block.
How does a 7-foot-long panther sound? Three life-size mascots are up for auction. Bidders also have hundreds of sports and band uniforms to choose. Boxes of championship trophies are ready for a new home.
"Really we wanted to find what's the best way to return in to the alumni and to the public. And so we decided to do an auction," HISD warehouse operations manager Nicole Ware-Smith said.
Ware-Smith says they have already received calls about some of the items.
"One local business man who went to Forest Brook High School wants to purchase the school mascot to display outside his business," she said.
HISD is holding the auction online for the next two weeks. All items appear to be in very good condition, but anyone who wants to see items in person will be allowed on the public viewing days, May 15 and 22 from 10:00am to 2:30pm. Bidders can also find everything online. Most items range from $1 to $10.
