A dramatic high-angle rescue unfolded on the East Loop at the Ship Channel Bridge Wednesday afternoon.
According to TxDOT, a contractor working on the Ship Channel Bridge lost his footing and slipped. He has personal protective gear on that kept him from falling all the way down.
Around 4:50pm, the worker was pulled to safety. He appeared to be conscious.
A portion of the freeway was shut down for the rescue, but has since reopened.
