Woman struck by car in west Harris County in critical condition

KATY, TX (KTRK) -- A woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a car early this morning in west Harris County.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the woman was arguing with her significant other in a car on Kingsland at South Mason around 3:30am. Deputies say at some point she decided to get out of the car and step into a moving lane of traffic.

She was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

The vehicle that hit her initially stopped, but then kept going. Deputies later found the suspect's vehicle, but the driver was gone.
