Woman found murdered in southwest Houston high rise

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are looking for answers after a woman was found dead after an apparent assault in southwest Houston late last night.

The discovery was made on the third floor of the Conquistador high rise in the 7500 block of Bellaire Boulevard. Police say Shelbey Thomburgh, 20, suffered lacerations and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe she was assaulted by an unknown male in her apartment. At this time, there are no witnesses or suspects.

Management at the Conquistador would not comment.
