Violent crime spree in NW Houston ends in backyard

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A violent crime spree early this morning in northwest Houston ended in someone's backyard.

Two men stole a Camaro from a man at a car wash on North Main just after midnight.

A police officer spotted it a short time later and tried to chase the men down, but they took off down Winston.

The driver crashed into a building and then finally stopped when he hit a tree.

Both suspects bailed and took off running into a neighborhood.

Police caught the driver trying to hide in a backyard.

The passenger is still on the run.
