BEVERLY HILLS, CA -- A 47-year-old man was in serious condition after being struck by two cars while riding his bicycle on Sunday.
The bicyclist was obeying traffic laws, Los Angeles police said. When he crossed the street at the intersection of Robertson Boulevard and Burton Way at about 9:50 a.m., the first car hit him, causing him to flip forward. That driver stayed and cooperated with police.
The bicyclist ultimately landed in front of a black SUV, which then ran over him and sped off.
"Everyone's screaming, 'Stop. Stop. Don't move,' and was honking," witness Josh Gutierrez said.
A witness of the incident jumped in a car and followed the alleged hit-and-run driver, Gutierrez said. Los Angeles police eventually caught up to the male driver and arrested him.
The bicyclist suffered non-life threatening injuries. null
