The informal gathering of car enthusiasts turned into a wild scene when gunfire rang out

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are looking for those who opened fire during a parking lot car show late Sunday night. It happened on Little York near Airline at about 11:40pm.

Police say there was a large crowd which had gathered for what attendees call "SLAB Sunday." SLAB stands for "Slow, Loud and Bangin'" according to some of those in attendance.

Investigators say cars had been cruising the parking lot when the driver of a white Cadillac cut off another driver, and that when the other driver went to confront the person in the Cadillac, the other driver was pistol-whipped.

Police say three others then joined in, attacking the victim when someone then opened fire in the area. Dozens of shots were fired according to eyewitnesses.

One of those who was there shot video of the confrontation and the gunfire which followed. He tells us he feared for his life as they fled the hail of bullets.

The car driven by the man who was pistol-whipped was hit five times by gunfire. He tells us there was a baby riding in the back seat, who somehow was unharmed. Police say three people were hit by gunfire but none of their wounds are life-threatening.
