Police are looking for a man who robbed two convenience stores in Sugar Land this past weekend

SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- Police are looking for a robber who stole cash from two convenience stores this weekend in Sugar Land.

Sugar Land police say a man went into Food Express in the 1300 block of Bournewood Drive just before 11pm, grabbed a drink from a cooler and approached the counter. When the cashier opened the register, police say the man lifted his shirt, showed a pistol tucked in his waistband, and demanded money.

Authorities say nearly the same thing happened a day later with the same man at the Citgo in the 13000 block of West Bellfort Road just after 2pm. However, this time, the man pulled the pistol out of his waistband before he demanded money.

In both cases, police say the gunman got away with the stores' cash.

The man is described as about 27 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighed 160 to 190 pounds. In both robberies, the gunman wore a lime green hat with the letter "R" on the front, a short sleeve shirt, a lime-green construction vest, blue jeans and rubber boots.

He was seen on surveillance video leaving both stores in a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser.

Anyone with information should call the Sugar Land Police Department at (281) 275-2540 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477).
