Thieves smash into northwest Houston Dollar Store, leave empty handed

Crooks used a truck to smash their way into a Dollar General store, but it is not clear if anything was stolen

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are looking for two men responsible for a smashing into a northwest Houston store in a burglary attempt.

It happened just after 6:00am at a Dollar General store on Veterans Memorial Parkway.

Police said two men rammed a truck into the front of the store, shattering the glass and breaking through metal security bars. The suspects were not successful in stealing anything. They ran away on foot before officers arrived.

Officers recovered the truck used in the crime. As of this morning, it had not been reported stolen.
