BASTROP, Texas (KTRK) -- Texas A&M students planted 4,000 trees in Bastrop State Park.
Thousands of trees were destroyed in a massive wildfire in the area in 2011. More than 34,000 acres were burned.
Texas A&M Forest Service, Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Arbor Day Foundation started a five-year reforestation project.
So far, a total of 45,000 trees have been planted.
