HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A former Dickinson High School teacher has been charged with a felony this morning for allegedly having an improper relationship with a current student.

Justin Michael Devera turned himself in to League City Police this morning. The 32-year-old was charged with a second-degree felony. His bond was set at $20,000.

Devera resigned from his position within the school district after allegations of the relationship surfaced. He was initially placed on administrative leave by Dickinson Independent School District officials.

The district is cooperating with League City police as they investigate.

There's no word on the age of the student or how long the alleged relationship lasted. Investigators believe the incident may have occurred in League City.

The district has refused to offer any other details regarding the allegations.
