A 19-year-old Spring man pleaded to a 35-year prison sentence in connection to a string of restaurant robberies last August.

Lloyd T. Kurland Jr., 19, entered the guilty plea Friday morning in Montgomery County's 435th state District Court. Kurland is the second of three co-defendants to receive a prison sentence of 30 years or more after confessing to at least eight robberies throughout Harris and Montgomery counties, prosecutors said.

Cadarien Roberts, also 19, pleaded to a 30-year sentence last November. Aggravated robbery charges against Samuel Horace are still pending.

Assistant District Attorney Rob Freyer said Kurland and Roberts were involved with a crew that would routinely hold up restaurants and customers at Denny's, IHOP and Waffle House, mostly in Harris County.
