Smash and grab in Baytown
Police are looking for several suspects after a smash and grab robbery in Baytown

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- Workers at a Baytown gas station spent the morning cleaning up after crooks drove a truck through their store.

Officers said five or six young men used a Ford F-250 to smash open the building and steal the ATM. The crime happened around 3am at the Exxon gas station at the corner of South Alexander Drive and East Texas Avenue. As of 6:45am, the men remained on the run.

Those helping to clean up the shattered glass, broken window frame, and spilled merchandise said police recovered the ATM. However, no one could say if the burglars were successful in stealing money from the machine.

Police reviewed surveillance video of the smash and grab robbery. Convenience store workers declined to release the video to Eyewitness News, providing little description for the public about the wanted men.

If you know who is responsible, call Baytown Crimestoppers at 281-427-TIPS (8477).
