Six Lamar CISD schools closed Thursday due to rising water

RICHMOND, TX (KTRK) -- Six Lamar CISD schools are closed Wednesday because of flooding issues on roads.



Those schools include Austin Elementary, Frost Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Wertheimer Middle, Briscoe Jr. High and Foster High. Lamar CISD says absences will be excused and "procedures are in place to ensure your child's successful completion of the spring 2016 semester." Students at Foster and Briscoe will have the option of exempting all finals or completing them next week.



Displaced students in need of assistance are encouraged to contact the Red Cross.
