172,000 pounds of trash removed from Texas beaches

You might want to go out and catch it, especially if it's anywhere near Texas's now pristine beaches.
The Texas General Land Office says more than 9,000 volunteers spent their time last Saturday cleaning up 169 miles of Texas coastline.
In a single day, they removed about 172,853 pounds of rubbish from our sandy shores, including a toilet that somehow made its way onto the beach.
The fall Adopt-a-Beach Cleanup is now in its 30th year, and has yield the cleanup of nearly 19 million pounds of garbage since it began.
Commissioner George P. Bush says volunteers typically see a lot of small garbage, like cigarette butts, beer cans and plastic bags, but they've seen a lot of odd and unusual items left behind.
