Schwarzenegger will speak at UH for no fee

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Arnold Schwarzenegger will not charge the University of Houston for a commencement speech, according to a tweet from the university.

He was going to be paid $40,000 the university said Tuesday, with the school covering travel costs as well.

"When @Schwarzenegger discovered a fee was arranged by his reps for Commencement, he Terminated it," the tweet said. "No charge to UH."

"Gov. Schwarzenegger wasn't aware that a fee was arranged by his representatives to deliver this commencement address, and he has never asked for a speaking fee to speak to students. He has asked his representatives to waive the fee, and he looks forward to his visit," said Daniel Ketchell, spokesman for Gov. Schwarzenegger.

Commencement is May 12 at 10 a.m.
