Reward being offered for information about wanted fugitive

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for the capture of wanted fugitive Roy Edward Arevalo, Jr. The 18-year-old is wanted in Brazos County for engaging in organized criminal activity.

The FBI and Brazos County Sheriff's Office are partnering with Clear Channel Outdoor and Crime Stoppers of Houston in an effort to bring Arevalo to justice. Starting today, digital billboards located throughout the Greater Houston area will publish Arevalo's photograph and advertise a reward offered in the case. Crime Stoppers of Houston will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the location and arrest of Arevalo.

According to authorities, Arevalo conspired with others in an attempt to smuggle narcotics and other prohibited items into the Brazos County Jail earlier this year. The case is being investigated by the Brazos County Sheriff's Office with assistance by the FBI. So far, Arevalo has evaded capture and the FBI and Brazos County Sheriff's Office need the public's help to bring him to justice.

Arevalo is a Hispanic male, 18 years old, 5'6", 209 pounds, with brown eyes and a black hair. Arevalo is from Brazos County, but is known to have associates in the Greater Houston area.
