The stabbing rocked the ussually quiet Sugar Land subdivision.

SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- Police are questioning a teenager after they say he stabbed his father multiple times inside of their home Monday evening.

The teenager, who is a varsity football player at Clements High School, is in custody and has been charged with aggravated assault.

"He does not have a temper. He's friendly," said said football teammate Cade Parker. "He talks to anybody and everybody. I love them. We would joke around on the field. We talk. He's friendly. I never see him say no to anybody. He's always friendly."

According to police on the scene, the teenager and his father got into an argument inside of their home located in the 3000 block of Pecan Ridge Drive. Police say the teenager pulled out a knife and stabbed his father several times. The victim had to be transported via helicopter to a nearby hospital.

"It's just shocking. I mean I never would have saw him as someone that I would worry about him doing that. I just didn't...I never saw that coming at all," said Parker.

The father's condition is unknown at this time, but officers on the scene said he was alert when he was transported. If the victim dies, police said charges against the teen will be upgraded.
