TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- Family and friends of a 23-year-old Tomball woman continue to pray for her safe return. After telling a friend her car was filling with water Sunday night, Ariel Tapscott's family haven't heard from her since.
Tapscott didn't show up for work Monday morning and hasn't answered her phone since around 8pm Sunday. Her mother, Raquel Leiker, told Eyewitness News that Tapscott had dinner with a friend and was driving home to Tomball when she alerted another friend her car was filling with water. She sent her location on Cypress-Rosehill Rd. near Dry Creek in Cypress and that was the last communication.
"You don't want to think the worst, but we're not getting any leads. We're trying to stay faithful with lots of prayers. We want to make sure she's safe," said Leiker, who drove in from Arlington where she lives when she heard her daughter was missing.
The family has filed a missing persons report with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Tapscott was driving a black Honda Accord.
Anyone with information is urged to call law enforcement.
