Man found dead in Port of Houston identified as missing 87-year-old

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The man who was found dead in the Port of Houston last night is now identified as Jack Howard Alter, 87.

Alter went missing after an attempted water rescue by the Houston Fire Department.

The City of Houston says Alter's confirmed death brings the death toll from severe rain and flooding to 7, and all missing people are accounted for in our area.
