Inside look at jail cell where Brock Turner served 3-month sentence
SAN JOSE Calif. -- Convicted sex offender Brock Turner is now a free man after being released from Santa Clara County Jail Friday morning. ABC7 News got an inside look at the cell where Turner spent the last three months.

Turner shared a jail cell with five other inmates.
His time behind bars was spent in protective custody on the third floor on the west side of the south jail complex because of the nature of his crime.

"There's a lot of reason why a person is in protective custody. Basically, they're at risk while they're here," Smith said.

When asked what they're at risk for, Smith responded, "They're at risk from other inmates."
Turner was allowed one and a half hours of exercise in the yard every other day. All his other time was spent inside the cell.
He didn't leave jail with much.
His next step is moving back to his family's home in Ohio and registering as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
"We're done with him. He's out of county jail. He should never have been here in the first place," Smith said.
The Santa Clara County District Attorney released a statement saying, "If we had our way, Brock Turner would be in state prison serving a six year sentence, not going home. However, our focus today is on a bill that will require a state prison sentence, not probation, for anyone convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious person. With the Governor's signature, the next Brock Turner will go to prison."
After leaving jail, it appears Turner went to a hotel in Mountain View with his mother.
