HPD seeks armored car employee's killer after north Houston attempted robbery

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Melvin Moore was working as guard for the armored car company Loomis when was shot and killed in March while servicing an ATM.

Today his family made an emotional plea for help in finding the men who murdered Moore.

The mother of an armored car employee killed during an attempted robbery has a message for his killers

Regina Poullard, Melvin's sister, said, "Now that Melvin is not here it is like we are missing a part of ourselves."

Poullard says her bother Melvin Moore wanted to be a police officer.

The father of four was killed back in March when he was servicing a drive up Chase Bank ATM off Airline Drive.

Melvin's mother Patricia Ann Moore explained the loss to her grandchildren is heartbreaking. She said, "The baby, he is 2, he comes to granny's house and he jumps on my lap and he says, 'hey granny' and he gives me a hug and says, 'Why don't you call my daddy?"

Police say the four suspects drove two different vehicles. A car was caught on camera before the shooting and also a newer model Nissan Quest.

HPD's Wendell Gilbert said, "He was shot not by someone who was just wanting to rob him, he was shot with the purpose was to kill him."

A reward of $15,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
