HPD investigating deadly shooting in southwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Family and friends are heartbroken after a Houston father was found shot to death this morning. Hours after his body was found at a house on Markwood at Vandalia, they are still waiting for answers.

The man's family identifies him as 41-year-old Michael Guy, the father of a one-year-old and a 17-year-old.

The shooting happened just before 5am. Police say they found the victim, identified by family members as 41-year-old Michael Guy, inside the home with several gunshot wounds.

Police say they've been having trouble getting information from witnesses. They also say the owner of the home has been uncooperative, which they say is holding up the investigation. That makes this sad situation even tougher for the family here.

"He was a great dad, great uncle, brother, husband," said Monika Guy, the victim's niece. "He did everything for any and anybody. That's why I don't understand what's going on."

No suspect has been named. The investigation continues.
