Deputy constables help man down on luck
Two Harris County deputy constables have been commended for helping out a man who was down on his luck.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- There's a great story we're hearing about from Harris County Precinct 4, where a couple of deputy constables helped out a man who was down on his luck.

According to Precinct 4, the deputies found a homeless man near the intersection of Richey Road and I-45. They discovered the man was trying to get money from passing drivers so that he could get back to Seattle, Washington.

One of the deputies walked back to his vehicle and grabbed a $100 bill so that the man could buy a ticket back home.

"This is a perfect illustration of compassion by your police," said Constable Mark Herman. "Good does happen with law enforcement doing their jobs."

The deputies' generosity was recognized by the Constable and a commendation was entered and placed in their personnel files.
