Girl hit by oncoming vehicle in North Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 5-year-old girl was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital after being struck by an oncoming vehicle in north Harris County, according to authorities.

It happened in the 7200 block of Fox Hall Lane.

A woman who lives down the street was driving with her husband and young child when the girl darted into the road and was hit. The driver was visibly shaken up after the accident.

The girl's condition is not known at this time.

It's standard procedure for the driver to be tested for drugs and alcohol and if it comes back clean, no charges will be filed. Authorities believe this may just be a terrible accident.
