Gas leak forces shelter in place in Walker County

WALKER COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A gas leak has forced a shelter in place for residents in Walker County.

Walker County officials say an 8-inch gas leak at 11th Street and Avenue I. is affecting 10th, 11th and 12th streets to Avenue F to H. Those in the area are advised to stay inside and several businesses in the area have closed.

Repairs are expected to be done by 3am, officials said.
