HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police have released a composite sketch of a man behind a violent carjacking.
It happened around 12:30am on July 24th at the Casa Real Apartments on West Little York Road.
Police say the suspect ran up to the victim and began yelling demands. The victim, who only speaks Spanish, did not understand the demands frustrating the suspect. Police say that's when the suspect pulled out a pistol and shot the victim.
"I do believe he could strike again. He was merciless. He didn't show any kind of regard to the complainant's life at all. I do believe he lives in the area and I do believe he could strike again," said Houston Police Officer Jennifer Medel.
The victim was then taken by responding HFD paramedics to a hospital where he survived his wounds.
The suspect took the victim's car keys and cell phone and left the scene in the victim's green Toyota Corolla. He's described only as a black male in his early 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build and was seen wearing a gray hoodie.
Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is urged to contact the HPD Robbery Division at 713-308-0700 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
