HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The sheriff's office is trying to figure out what led to the deaths of two people in a home in north Harris County.
It happened in the 900 block of Woodchurch.
An 84-year-old husband and his 79-year-old wife were found shot to death in the bedroom of the home where they have lived for more than 40 years. The discovery was prompted by their worried daughter earlier this afternoon.
"The neighbor came over they received a call from the couple's daughter. The daughter typically keeps in touch with the couple. She called and didn't get an answer so she asked a neighbor to retrieve a spare key and go and check on them," said Sgt. Greg Pinkins with the Harris County's Sheriff's Office.
Deputies found the couple deceased inside the home. The husband, we're told, was in poor health. Detectives say it's too early to say whether it was a case of murder or murder-suicide. A weapon was found inside the home.
The victim's names have not been released.
