Body found in NW Harris County IDed as missing woman

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Harris County's Sheriff's Office positively identified a body recovered Tuesday as a 43-year-old missing woman.

Officials say a man walking a dog found the body wrapped in a blanket near palm leaves off Concrete Drive. Texas EquuSearch volunteers were in the area looking for Blanca Pena, 43, who was reported missing Saturday.

Authorities say Pena was reported missing by her son when she failed to show up for work and couldn't be located. Deputies believed she could be in danger because of evidence found at the scene.

Her death has been ruled a homicide.
